We created Norgifieds when we had a look around and didn't think anyone was doing online classifieds right. For the most part large online classified sites - even the popular ones- just replicated newspaper classifieds online. We thought this could be done better. Our motto was “keep it simple, keep it clean”.
For starters we wanted a system that was easily searchable, so we have far less categories than most classified sites. We also wanted to incorporate some sort of auction-type system, because let's face it you don't always have an idea of what something could be worth. So we came up with the "make an offer" system. We think it rocks, but we're always open to improvements and we exist to bring you the best classified system possible.
Team Norgified is (in alphabetical order, because we're about being fair):
Gary Barber — a kick-arse UI guy who he got in to simplify our category system and look at how we could best simplify a complex system. You can find him on twitter as @Tuna or through his at company Radharc.
Grant Bissett — Grant is our designer who you can thank for the clean-cut look of Norgifieds. Best thing about Grant is that he designs for function and we think he's done a great job doing that. You can find him on twitter @gbissett or through his company Speak Interactive.
Bronwen Clune — Bronwen is the CEO of Norg Media — the company behind Norgifieds. Her job was basically to pretend she knew what she was doing and come up with crazy ideas that everyone then worked to implement. You can find her on Twitter @bronwen or contact her through bronwen@norg.com.au
Matt Didcoe — Matt was our bug tester and he put the system through the ropes to make sure we had it working as best as possible. Matt is also a great developer himself and I'm sure you'll be hearing about his work once we graduates from uni. You can find him on twitter @mattman or his website.
Myles Eftos — Myles was the heavy-lifter in this project doing all the hard-coding. And despite not developing the site in ROR (his first love) Myles did a stellar job of making the system sing. He also has his own commercial CMS, which is worth looking at. You can find Myles on twitter @madpilot and also through his company MadPilot Productions.
